
Dewey Newton
Dewey joined Turner’s Chicago office in 1985 where he served as a Field Engineer and then Assistant Superintendent. In 1988, he was one of five staff who moved to open the Kansas City office of Turner, where he worked in the field and then as Manager of Business Development. He was named Vice President of sales in 2002, and promoted to Vice President & General Manager in 2003.
During his tenure in KC, Dewey was instrumental in overseeing the construction of high-profile projects such as Kansas Speedway, the H. Roe Bartle Hall Expansion over 16 lanes of traffic, and the Marion Park Project. He saw the office grow from five people to nearly 150 dedicated professionals in the 25 years he operated in KC.
In 2010, Dewey was promoted to Senior Vice President and National Sales Manager for Turner. In this national sales role, Dewey lead all preplanning and preconstruction services for high profile, multi-faceted development projects, including multi-development projects revolving around sports, entertainment, retail, and hospitality venues.
In 2012, Dewey was promoted to head of Turner’s Sports and Public Assembly market segment, his most recent role. As leader of this segment, Dewey works with Turner’s local offices to secure and deliver sports and public assembly projects across the country. He operates the sports group with more than 500 dedicated professionals across the country. and maintains responsibility for more than $1.3 billion in sports and hospitality construction annually.
Dewey is a 1985 graduate of Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering. He resides with his family in Dallas, Texas.
